ObjectivesThe course is designed for managers or engineers for whom effective management of risk is just one of many responsibilities or for professional risk managers who are looking for an overview of risk management applied to different risk areas. The course will demonstrate the practical implementation of risk management to a range of different applications and provide opportunities for each participant to consider a particular risks of relevance to their own organisation. The course takes students through the steps of the risk management process as defined by AS/NZS4360 with exercises and examples so that participants can explore how each step applies to their own organisation and its risks. Qualitative and quantitative risk analysis techniques are introduced with the aim of providing sufficient understanding of the techniques so that participants can assess their applicability to their own problems and recognise their strengths and weaknesses. A short course format is also available.
