Description : This course is part of the Graduate Certificate in Emergency Management operated by Emergency Management Australia, Mount Macedon, VIC It will be delivered in Sydney by Michael Tarrant from EMA The course will explore existing paradigms in emergency management and demonstrate how they drive existing emergency management practices. It will consider how research findings and current and emerging technologies might inform change in emergency management paradigms.
  
Objectives : On completion of this module, participants should be able to engage with current and emerging issues and trends in emergency management, contributing to debates in the field and identifying policies and practices which would be beneficial to emergency management contexts in general and/or to participant’s own emergency management context.

Topics 2 : Current research trends and outcomes:- How people are affecected by an emrgency.
Topics 3 : Challenges of working in an environment with high uncertainty and how to overcome them.
Topics 4 : Reviews of good practice. Enhancing emergency management practice.
Topics 5 : Current and New technologoes for use in emergency management.
