ABOUT HEALTH AND SAFETY Program Coordinator : Dr Tony Green The Health and Safety Programs offered by the School of Safety Science are the most comprehensive series of articulated programs in Australia. The programs have common components so that changing between the programs, or to the ergonomics program after initial enrolment, is generally possible (depending on enrolment requirements and satisfactory progression). The Graduate Certificates(OHS or Safety Science) is a six month full-time equivalent program, which consists of selected courses from the Graduate Diploma in Safety Science. The Graduate Diploma is a one year full-time equivalent program which may be chosen by students who are not eligible for direct entry to the Masters degree or who do not wish to undertake a research project. The Master of Science and Technology in OHS is an interdisciplinary program which is ideal for people who wish for a more specialised career in safety and health. A project is part of the requirements. The Master of Safety Science is a broad program which includes a major project. It is intended for those who wish to extend their knowledge from their original discipline base to enable them to manage multidisciplinary teams and activities in the safety and health and environment area. |
